Use less colour, I read this phrase often. Yet whenever I see art that is bursting with colour I think wow. My painting of the road running past the Old Mill grows on me more and more.

Inspired by one of my photographs taken while out walking, the weather was sunny and cold and long tall shadows fell across the road. It is a lovely country road, with horses in the fields at the top of that hill.
